Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program 2023 – Are you looking for a chance that will lead you to work in Canada? Then read this post because we have some exciting news for you all. The Canadian Federal Skilled worker program now allows foreigners to come to Canada and start working or find some work on hand and settle in there. Now you can choose from a pool of more than 300 eligible professions and make your career. The recruitment is done via the Federal skilled worker program.

This program will evaluate your skills and abilities and assess if you are eligible for this program or not. In this article, I will explain how the assessment and every procedure occur. To begin with, you will first need to apply through a Canadian Express Entry program, where your profile will be created and further shared in the pool of profiles on the website. In addition, your application will be analyzed through a comprehensive ranking system (CRS); a system where points from different factors are counted and ranked to assess your education, skills, and language ability.

Moreover, the CRS will now check your profile and rank according to your age, experience, financial status, and sponsorship from Canada. If you obtain the highest score out of all the applicants, you are more likely to get an express entry via the Federal Skilled Worker program.

Now, if you are interested in applying for this program and want to move to Canada, you must consider the factors we will mention below; for more details, keep reading the article.

Selection Factor for Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program

    There are a few factors that you must consider before applying for the FSW program of Canada because it will show you if you are eligible to apply or not. Such as;

    1. Age
    2. Education
    3. Work experience
    4. Whether you have a valid job offer
    5. English/French language skills
    6. Adaptability

Let’s discuss in detail how these factors will affect your contribution to your assessment of the immigration program.

    #1. Age:

    The individual is assessed through his age; for example, if you are below 18 years of age, you will get a zero point, and as the age increases, the points will increase, but after the age of 37, your points will start decreasing. But you can still get points in other factors and still be eligible for the program. The point limit for the age factor is 12, and the range is given below;

    • Under 18 – 0 (points)
    • 18-35 – 12
    • 36 – 11
    • 37 – 10
    • 38 – 9
    • 39 – 8
    • 40 – 7
    • 41 – 6
    • 42 – 5
    • 43 – 4
    • 44 – 3
    • 45 – 2
    • 46 – 1
    • 47 and older – 0

    #2. Education

You are also required to present proof of education that your education is equal to a completed certificate, diploma, or degree from a Canadian:

    • secondary institution (high school)
    • post-secondary institution

You must include your foreign credential and Educational Credential Assessment report when you apply. To validate the educational equivalence, you can click the Link. Please keep in mind that the maximum number of points for the education factor is 25.

    #3. Work Experience.

The factor of work experience is also important because the immigration department checks whether you worked as a full-time worker for 30 hours a week or an equal time as a part-time worker (15 hours per week for 12 months). The maximum number of points for work experience is 15.

    #4. Job offers.

One way to get points for the Canadian FSW program is to secure a job in Canada from an employer or company, with an employment plan of at least 1 year with full-time work for 30 hours a week. The job must be of any TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the NOC. The maximum number of points for a job offer in Canada for the FSW program is 10.

    #5. Language Skills.

You can achieve scores for your FSW program if you know both of Canada’s official languages, English/French. You can still get points if you know any one of the languages, because both help in the Canadian job Market. The maximum number of points for language skills is 28.

You can get points based on your ability to:

    • write
    • read
    • listen
    • speak

    #6. Adaptability

You will achieve extra points if you prove your adaptability to Canada’s norms, culture, and environment of Canada. This can be done if you have lived there for a minimum time period for your education or you have a partner or spouse living in Canada already, and even if you have any relatives in Canada. The maximum points for this factor are 10.
