    An Ireland work visa is a type of visa that is given to foreign candidates who want to travel to Ireland on the basis of performing paid activities. This visa allows you to enter the country legally. The Ireland work visa is also called Ireland long stay D visa. It is issued to foreigners who wish to stay in Ireland for longer than three months.

    How to apply for an Ireland Work Visa 2023?

    In case you have a job offer from any company or employer based in Ireland, then that employer or company is responsible to get your work permit for you from the online employment permit website EPOS. After approval of a work permit by the Department of Business, Enterprise, and Innovation, you are ready to apply for an Ireland Work visa.

    There are two different departments that evaluate and issue your documents, for instance;

    • DBEI (Department of Business, Enterprise, and Innovation) – responsible for the issuance of work permits.
    • INIS (the Irish Naturalization &Immigration Service) – is responsible for the issuance of work visas.

    Required Documents

    The following documents are necessary and to be kept ready even before applying for an Ireland work visa;

    • Application form for Ireland work visa
    • A valid passport
    • Recent photographs
    • Proof of legal accommodation in Ireland
    • Receipt of paid Ireland visa fees
    • Purpose of traveling to Ireland (work)
    • Proof of legal residence in the home country
    • Previous visas details
    • Proof of sufficient financial funds to cover your living expenses in Ireland
    • Proof of your intentions of leaving Ireland after visa expiry
    • Employment permit
    • Job contract details
    • Qualifications proof
    • Details of work experience
    • Proof of getting medical insurance of at least €25,000.

    NOTE: All the documents must be original unless you are not required to original. Documents must be in English – if not, they must be translated.

    You must keep copies of all the documents you submit. The originals, including your passport, work permit, and other important documents, will be returned back, to the mentioned return address.

    Application Process

    All interested candidates can submit the application for an Ireland Work visa through an online medium of Irish immigration facility, such as; AVATS.

    After being redirected to the website, you will need to fill out the application form.

    After that, print out the form and submit the form with other required documents to the address mentioned in summary.

    Ireland Work Visa Processing Time

    The processing time for an Ireland work visa is usually eight weeks. The process can be delayed if any inconvenience occurs, so try to apply in advance but not earlier than 3 months.

    Ireland Work Visa Cost:

    The cost of the Ireland work visa is as follows;

    • Single entry: €60
    • Multi entry: €100
    • Transit: €25

    Ireland Work Visa Validity?

    The validity of the work visa in Ireland is three months (90 days). However, the validity of the work permit depends on the nature and type of work permit you are applying for. Most of them are valid for two years and can be renewed for up to 5 years. After five years, you also become eligible to apply for permanent residency.

    The visa can be renewed through EPOS.
