NIG, also known as the National Insititute of Genetics Program, SOKENDAI is offering research internships for Undergraduate and postgraduate students (NIG Internship 2024 in Japan). The internship is offered for international students who wish to gain experience in science-related fields. During the internship program, interns will have an opportunity to learn under the mentorship of a host investigator at NIG.
This is a fully funded internship program in Japan for international students that one should take advantage of. The internship program includes research training, scientific communications and lab visits. After completing the internship program, interns will give a presentation about their experience of their stay. After completing the internship successfully, all the interns will be awarded completion certificates.
The internship program includes multiple activities such as journal clubs, grade program lectures and seminars by renowned researchers. Applicants can also take the Japanese language classes. So, you should not miss out on much stuff in this internship program.

About NIGINTERN 2024
National Institute of Genetics (NIG) Offers an internship program for international students who are enrolled in Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programs. The internships are available in genetics and related fields in life sciences. The NIG covers all the costs of the selected participants in this internship program.
NIG Internship 2024 Financial Coverage
The NIG covers the following cost of the interns:
- Round Trip Airfare
- Transportation Fare b/w airport in Japan & NIG
- Accommodation Fees
- Travel Insurance for the tenure of the internship
- Living Expenses
*Other than above, applicants have to bear the costs by themselves
- The internship will take place from June 13 – July 24, 2024
- All international students are eligible to apply for the NIGINTERN 24.
- Applicants must be enrolled in 3rd year or 4th year of the undergraduate degree program.
- Students enrolled in 1st year or 2nd Year of Masters degree programs can apply.
- Students who are interested in the related fields of life sciences can apply.
