NIG, also known as the National Insititute of Genetics Program, SOKENDAI is offering research internships for Undergraduate and postgraduate students (NIG Internship 2024 in Japan). The internship is offered for international students who wish to gain experience in science-related fields. During the internship program, interns will have an opportunity to learn under the mentorship of a host investigator at NIG.
This is a fully funded internship program in Japan for international students that one should take advantage of. The internship program includes research training, scientific communications and lab visits. After completing the internship program, interns will give a presentation about their experience of their stay. After completing the internship successfully, all the interns will be awarded completion certificates.

Internship Period
- The internship will take place from June 13 – July 24, 2024
Eligibility Criteria:
- All international students are eligible to apply for the NIGINTERN 24.
- Applicants must be enrolled in 3rd year or 4th year of the undergraduate degree program.
- Students enrolled in 1st year or 2nd Year of Masters degree programs can apply.
- Students who are interested in the related fields of life sciences can apply.
